Icarus Mobile Veterinary Service is one of the few practices dedicated to avicultural medicine. We work with psittacines, ratites and passerines. We work as a team to evaluate aviaries and to improve flock production. We also treat pet birds.

Dr. Wissman is a Board Certified Avian Specialist who has an exclusive avian and exotic animal practice in Wesley Chapel, Florida. She works with several pet retailers and many bird and reptile breeders. She is the former co-owner of a family-owned pet store that sold primarily birds and reptiles, and acted as their store veterinarian. She writes the popular "Causes and Cures" column for Bird Talk magazine. She is active in the Association of Avian Veterinarians and lectures world-wide on avian and exotic animal topics. She and her husband, Bill Parsons, own Small World Zoological Gardens and Sanctuary, and raise marmosets and tamarins for conservation. Dr. Wissman is also associated with Antech Diagnostic Laboratories as an avian and exotic animal consultant.
